Our Story
More Than 34 Years in Southern Maine
Sanford Flooring opened in Sanford, Maine in 1991 with a straightforward goal: provide Southern Maine homeowners with a better flooring experience. That meant carrying quality products, hiring people who knew what they were doing, and standing behind every project we completed.
More than three decades later, that goal has not changed.
We are still family-owned and operated. We still believe in showing up, communicating clearly, and delivering work that we would be proud of in our own homes. Our 5,000 sq ft showroom on Main Street in Sanford gives customers the space to see, touch, and compare flooring options without pressure — and our installation team treats every project like it matters, because it does.
York County has trusted us through housing booms and slower times, through style trends that came and went, and through the growth of online competitors that cannot match what we offer in person. We are still here because the people of this community keep coming back.

Jason St. Jean
OwnerJason believes Sanford Flooring provides more than flooring. It provides peace of mind. A U.S. Navy veteran with a degree in accounting, Jason purchased Sanford Flooring at the age of 27. Coming into the flooring industry as an outsider gave him a fresh perspective and a willingness to improve the way things had always been done. As a Sanford High School graduate and University of Southern Maine alumnus, Jason is deeply connected to the community he serves. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and best friend, Erin, and their children, Austin and Emma.
Erin St. Jean
Office ManagerErin has served as Sanford Flooring's Office Manager for more than 22 years. During that time, she has played a role in nearly every part of the business, helping keep daily operations organized and running smoothly. What Erin values most is the opportunity to work alongside her family and a team of coworkers who have become like family. After more than two decades, she remains grateful to have built a career in a place where she genuinely enjoys coming to work each day.
Austin St. Jean
Flooring SpecialistAustin got his start at Sanford Flooring working summers in the warehouse before joining the team full time. Those early years taught him the values that continue to guide him today: working hard, treating people with respect, and providing dependable service. Austin is committed to understanding each customer's goals and helping turn their plans into reality. Whether the project is large or small, he approaches it with the same level of care and attention.
Shane Cote
ManagerShane has spent 30 years in the flooring industry and still enjoys seeing a customer's reaction to a finished space. Having grown up in the business, he brings extensive product knowledge and practical experience to every project. Shane is especially skilled at listening to what customers envision and helping them find the right solution. Outside of work, he is a devoted husband and father of three — and on Friday nights he can often be found running the chains or volunteering at Sanford football games.
Sue Ditroia
Purchaser & Flooring SpecialistSue brings more than 17 years of flooring industry experience to her role. Her dedication, industry knowledge, and strong work ethic help keep projects moving smoothly while ensuring customers receive the products and support they need. Sue is proud to have built a rewarding career as part of the Sanford Flooring team. Outside of work, she enjoys tending to her flowers and garden and spending time with her three grown children and two grandchildren.
Cullen O'Gorman
Flooring SpecialistCullen brings more than 12 years of experience at Sanford Flooring, along with an earlier background as a flooring installer. His hands-on industry experience gives him a practical understanding of flooring products, installation, and the challenges customers need to solve. Outside of work, Cullen is the proud father of two grown sons. He enjoys spending time with his close-knit family, boating, and being with his dogs — and he is a lifelong Red Sox fan and enthusiastic supporter of New England sports.
Sonja Cote Woods
Flooring SpecialistBorn and raised in Sanford, Sonja brings a strong local connection and a passion for beautiful spaces to her role as a flooring specialist. She is currently pursuing a degree in interior design and enjoys helping customers transform their houses into homes through thoughtful choices in materials, textures, and colors. Outside of work, Sonja enjoys spending time on the water, playing pickleball, and being with her two teenage daughters, family, friends, and dogs.
Brittany Bullis
ReceptionistAs Sanford Flooring's receptionist, Brittany is one of the first friendly faces customers see when they walk through the door. A natural people person, she enjoys getting to know customers, making them feel welcome, and helping make their experience as easy as possible. She has loved learning about the flooring industry and playing a part in helping customers bring their ideas for their homes to life. Outside of work, Brittany is a busy mom of four boys who enjoys family adventures, road trips to Florida, crafting, and creating new things.
Nicole Verrill
Flooring SpecialistNicole is excited and honored to join the Sanford Flooring team. She is passionate about helping people find the perfect piece that makes their house feel like home, and she loves getting to know each customer and bringing their vision to life. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys baking, painting, hiking, spending time outdoors, and experiencing new things. She looks forward to growing alongside this wonderful team and creating a pleasant, comfortable experience for every customer who walks through the door.
A Showroom That Speaks for Itself
Not every flooring store lets you walk through 5,000 square feet of samples and installed displays. Ours does. We designed our showroom at 1209 Main Street in Sanford to give you a real sense of how different flooring types look and feel in a finished space.
We carry premium brands that meet the standards homeowners expect — Lauzon, Hartco, Bruce, Stainmaster, Armstrong, Mohawk, Shaw, and Tarkett, among others. And because we offer professional installation for everything we sell, you never have to coordinate between two different companies.
